Early Season Whitetail Hunting Tips

Opening day is right around the corner here in Michigan! After 9 months of work, getting your property ready, it’s finally time to get back into a tree. But is it really time to push into your favorite stands? Most of the time, probably not.

In this video we will go over a few temptations you should try to resist in order to keep the deer on your property pressure free and the movement predictable well into the season. Although we take a more conservative approach to the start of the hunting season, we are still in the woods, so we’ll also discuss when and where we prefer to hunt in early October.

  1. What I have learned from nearly every hunting video regarding timing of hunting, is that it revolves around the “destination food source”… Well, where I hunt there is no such destination and early season they eat nothing but acorns and do that through November.

  2. Awesome Video!! Very informative!!! I learned a lot, and I also believe barometric pressure has a lot to do with deer movement especially when its high like you said.
