Complete elimination of the Michigan Rifle Line (Limited Firearms Zone) — all legal firearms now allowed statewide in the Lower Peninsula
Muzzleloader season shortened to just 3 days
Earlier Late Antlerless Firearm Season
No more extended seasons past January 1st
No antlerless drawing in the Upper Peninsula + new universal antlerless limits
Senior crossbow access expanded
Big Changes for 2027:
One buck limit implemented across the Lower Peninsula
New “Earn a Second Buck” pilot program in southern Michigan
Changes to deer licenses and combination tags

one buck is a great idea in order for this state to produce trophy animals. The rifle line is a huge mistake. When people get killed we will all wonder why???????
I’m very happy that they got rid of the limited fire arm zone. I have a marlin 444 but I can’t use it because the case was too long. Thank God they got rid of these rules.
I’m just now learning about Michigan deer hunting.. getting complicated like My old hunting grounds in Washington and Oregon.
